Cambusbarron Community Development Trust (CCDT) was established in 2010 with the aim of helping local organisations deliver projects and services to people within the Cambusbarron community. CCDT has the administrative capability and independent leadership which enables Cambusbarron organisations to achieve their objectives within the community. CCDT supervises distribution of grant funds, encourages applications for new funds and supports those applications. CCDT purpose is:
1 To advance environmental protection or improvement including preservation, sustainable development and conservation of the natural environment, the maintenance, improvement or provision of environmental amenities for the Community and/or the preservation of buildings or sites of architectural, historic or other importance to the Community.
2 To provide or assist in providing facilities for recreation and other leisure time activity, which will be available to members of the Community and public at large with the object of improving the conditions of life of the Community.
3 To advance the education of the Community about its environment, culture, heritage and/or history.
4 To manage community land and facilities for the benefit of the Community and the public in general.
5 To advance community development within the Community. Our major project at the moment involves the purchase and management of the Gillies Hill Community Woodland.
