Go Forth and Clyde is a new volunteer-run charity, we were once the Falkirk centre of Reunion Canal Boats then became a separate charity in 2020. We provide volunteer lock keeping services on the Forth and Clyde Canal, we train people in boat skills and are an accredited Royal Yacht Association Training Centre have a narrowboat that we use recreation for our volunteers and the community. We have a repair shop and maker space in which we are developing community based learning in practical skills. We also hire our narrowboat to generate some income.
Our aim is to use the canal as a catalyst for social interaction, well-being, skills and self – development based on environmental awareness. As part of this we offer our narrowboat the Jaggy Thistle as a self drive day hire.
