The Wee County Crafters was formed by the coming together of two local groups who had a joint interest in making things. The Wood Crafters and The Wood Carvers came together in 2010 at Aberdona Farm. As more space was required we moved to Alva in 2011 and became a charity a few years later.
Wee County Crafters SCIO is an organisation formed to support and help everyone interested in craft activities. We have a large workshop and a flexible space in Alva at the foot of the Ochil Hills. We aim to encourage people perhaps to try something different and acquire and develop skills in leisure pursuits. We currently have members participating in wood carving, wood turning, bandsaw box making, bird feeders and garden furniture, fine furniture making and general woodcraft.
We have over sixty members participating in many forms of wood craft from driftwood sculptures to carving, woodturning and garden equipment making among others. We are open for four sessions per week and enjoy the social interaction with our members and enjoy watching their creations emerging from the raw materials.
